At the Davis' Mega
Maze in Sterling, Massachusetts. The theme this year was
"Mission: Improbable" -- agents' goal being to locate the $200 billion
in gold hidden in the field by Dr. McEvil. The cheese factor only
went up from there.

Experience the adventure. Feel the terror. |
 |
They had a variety of small mazes outside to warm up
on. Here, start on the black-and-white arrow and try to find your way
into the center. Go as far as you like in the direction of the arrow;
wherever you choose to stop, that becomes your new direction for the
next step. |
 |
Walk the labyrinth. Be the labyrinth. |
 |
The atmosphere just got better and better. If only I
had clips of the seven-minute instructional video they showed us upon
entering. |
 |
It was easy to lose one's way in the maze of twisty
little passages, all alike. |
 |
Fortunately, there were strategically located
shoe-phones by which wusses could call for help. |
 |
The maze was cut in the overall shape of a compass, with
nine bridges connecting different points. |
 |
The view from the bridges wasn't as much of a help to
solving the maze as we had hoped -- paths in the corn became
indistinct more than a few yards away. |
 |
Gidon and Reena on the Spy Slide!! This was just one
of many exciting bonus features hidden around the maze. In the
previous photo, you can see another in the distance -- the Port-a-Potties. |
 |
All too soon, we found ourselves at the hidden gold
and the Victory Bridge. So we went back into the
maze for another couple hours, to find all twelve hidden clues and all
nine bridges. This proved to be of questionable judgment, really. On
the bright side, we left with the hard-earned rank of Maze Master
Super Spy. |
